Strategic Planning Initiative

The 2016-21 strategic planning initiative is Cal Maritime's first ever, major comprehensive strategic planning effort in the institution's history.  Designed to help Cal Maritime deliver on the promises made in our vision, mission, and core values, the planning initiative comprised of an Academic Master Plan (which serves as the keystone plan), and six supporting plans that address planning efforts in Enrollment, IT, Facilities, Fundraising/Communications, Residence Life, and Athletics. Information on all seven plans as well as Cal Maritime's vision are available on the Strategic Planning website.

Chancellor Open Forum

California State University Chancellor Timothy White will be visiting Cal Maritime later this week as part of a 23-campus tour of the system. During each visit, the Chancellor meets with students, faculty, staff and community members to gain a better understanding of the unique nature of each campus. The visit also presents an opportunity for the Chancellor to receive feedback from these internal and external campus communities.

Please join us for an open forum with Chancellor White sponsored by the Corps of Cadets this Friday, October 9 from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Rizza Auditorium. The Chancellor will share his strategic vision for the CSU, and there will be an opportunity to provide feedback and ask questions.

Cal Maritime Sailing Wins Shields Trophy

Congratulations to Cal Maritime Sailing,  winners of the 2015 Shield Trophy! Cal Maritime beat teams from Navy, Army, Kings Point, Maine Maritime, Queen's University, U.S. Coast Guard, Massachusetts Maritime and SUNY Maritime.

Food Security Project

As on most other college campuses, on occasion some of our students may experience hunger because they cannot afford food. Most often this is the result of a crisis or unexpected expense that he or she is dealing with. In order to make sure that no student in the Cal Maritime family goes hungry because he or she cannot afford food, we are introducing the Food Security Program.

If you would like to learn more about the program or make a monetary donation through the Cal Maritime Foundation, please visit the Food Security Program website.

As Seen on Campus

About 80 cadets attended the Edwards Leadership Development Program Retreat in September. To learn more about the Edwards Leadership Development Program, click here.

Group picture from the first Community Engagement event of the year, a work day with Rebuilding Together Solano County. There were 33 cadets who helped to restore the home of a veteran here in Vallejo.

Students participated in the 3-D Printing Workshop earlier this month, held by Evan Chang-Siu and Margot Hanson. Students were able to create their own custom part within an hour.
