ALUMNA ERIN PIERSON NAMED 2011 RISING STAR

Erin Pierson, D’02, has been named as the 2011 Rising Star. The award, which was established in 2010 by the CMA Alumni Association, recognizes recent graduates who have demonstrated energy, creativity and leadership skills within their own career or in support of Cal Maritime.

CMA RECEIVES $215,000 CHALLENGE GRANT FROM TK FOUNDATION

The California Maritime Academy is one step closer to having the most advanced training ship in the United States. The campus has been awarded a $215,000 dollar-for-dollar matching challenge grant from the TK Foundation. Every dollar donated in support of  the Navigation Lab by a company, foundation  or individual will be matched by the TK  Foundation. The gift will support Phase 2 of the construction of a Navigation Lab onboard Cal Maritime’s Training Ship Golden Bear.

CAL MARITIME AGAIN RANKS HIGH IN 2010 COLLEGE SURVEYS

The California Maritime Academy has once again ranked high in the annual US News & World Report and Forbes survey of the nation’s undergraduate colleges and universities. The Academy, a part of The California State University system, earned a fourth place ranking from US News among Regional Colleges in the West, with the U.S. Air Force Academy taking the top spot in the category.
