CAL MARITIME TO REPRESENT U.S. IN STUDENT WORLD SAILING CUP IN FRANCE
It’s nearly ten months away, but intense planning is already underway as The California Maritime Academy’s top sailors map a course to La Rochelle, France in late October to represent the United States in the annual Student Yachting World Cup.

CAL MARITIME TO HOST THIRD ANNUAL HARBOR CUP REGATTA IN LOS
The California Maritime Academy and the Port of Los Angeles are again teaming up to co-sponsor the third annual Harbor Cup March 12-14th, already one of the top West Coast events in intercollegiate sailing. The competition will be fierce with invited teams from the U.S. Naval and Coast Guard Academies, the Maine Maritime Academy, Northwestern, University of Hawaii, University of Southern California, U.C. Davis, Chapman University and California State University Channel Islands.

DHS AWARDS $200,000 TRAINING/CURRICULUM GRANT TO CAL MARITIME
The California Maritime Academy Department of Sponsored Projects and Extended Learning (SPEL) has received a federal Homeland Security grant of $200,000 from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) administered through the California Emergency Management Agency (Cal EMA). The funds will support curriculum development and delivery of DHS-approved training courses to California emergency responders and
maritime industry professionals.

The Cal Maritime Sailing Team, winners of the Intercollegiate National Offshore Championship and representatives defending the United States in France this Fall, invite you to join them at the Harbor Cup Regatta and Cal Maritime Sailing Benefit March 12-14, 2010.
