 Our Alumni Association and your board serve our cadets by promoting the University, and its traditions, pride, and status as a leader among the maritime academies and as a world class institution. We actively support opportunities for the growth and development of the students and alumni, for the benefit of the individuals, the Association, and Cal Maritime. CAPTAIN NORM WERNER NAMED 2012 DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI
 During Commencement for the Class of 2012, alumnus Captain Norm Werner ('63D) was honored as the 2012 Distinguished Alumni. The award was established to recognize and honor graduates who have exemplified the mission of Cal Maritime by distinguishing themselves through their outstanding personal or professional accomplishments. His name will be posted on a plaque beside his fellow Distinguished Alumni in the Alumni Plaza outside the Simulation Center on campus.
